What should be noted when using industrial dust removal filter cages?

1. Installation precautions

Precise alignment and sealing

When installing industrial dust removal filter cages, ensure that the cage frame and filter bag/filter cartridge are fully matched to avoid wear or poor sealing of the filter bag due to size deviation. The center distance tolerance of the flower plate hole should be less than 0.5mm, and the flatness deviation should not exceed 1mm/m² to prevent the filter bag from shaking or falling off during operation. The cage frame of the anti-static filter bag needs to be bridged with the flower plate through a copper braided belt, and the grounding resistance should be ≤4Ω to prevent static electricity accumulation from causing fire.

Avoid mechanical damage

Special tools are required when hoisting the cage frame to prevent deformation or scratching the filter bag. After installation, it is necessary to manually check whether the surface of the cage frame is smooth and burr-free to avoid piercing the filter bag.

2. Maintenance points during operation

Regularly check wear and deformation

The cage frame may be bent, dented or rusted after long-term use, and needs to be checked regularly. If deformation (such as bending exceeding 5mm/m) or surface coating damage is found, it needs to be replaced in time, otherwise it will cause local wear of the filter bag or cleaning failure. In high temperature environment, high temperature resistant alloy steel cage frame needs to be selected and its thermal deformation needs to be monitored.

Adaptability of cleaning system

The injection pressure of the pulse cleaning system needs to match the cage frame structure (usually 0.25-0.6MPa). Too high pressure may cause excessive vibration of the cage frame and accelerate the wear of the filter bag; too low pressure will not clean thoroughly. For the vibration cleaning system, it is necessary to regularly check whether the connection between the cage frame and the vibration arm is loose to prevent it from falling off.

3. Environment and working condition control

Humidity and corrosion protection

High humidity environment (relative humidity>60%) is prone to cage rust. Stainless steel material or galvanized treatment is required, and anti-rust coating is applied regularly. If the gas contains corrosive components (such as SO₂), 316L stainless steel cage frame needs to be selected.

Dew point control: The gas temperature needs to be higher than the dew point by more than 20℃ to prevent condensed water from corroding the cage frame or causing the filter bag to harden.

Dust characteristics adaptation

For sticky dust (such as cement raw materials), it is necessary to choose cages with smooth surfaces (such as silicon coating treatment) to reduce dust adhesion; for abrasive dust (such as metal chips), wear-resistant strips or thickened cages need to be installed.

4. Replacement and scrapping standards

Replacement cycle reference

The life of the cage is usually 2-3 years, but it needs to be adjusted according to the actual working conditions. For example, the cage of a laser cutting dust collector may need to be replaced every year under continuous high load, while the intermittent operation of a woodworking workshop can be extended to 4 years. When the cage has structural cracks, severe rust (rust area > 30%) or deformation that makes the filter bag unable to be installed, it must be replaced immediately.

Replacement operation specifications

Before replacement, the power supply, air source and equipment must be cut off and the "four power off" principle must be followed. After the old cage is removed, the residual dust on the flower board needs to be cleaned, and before the new cage is installed, the size and material must be checked to see if they meet the original design.

5. Safety and efficiency optimization

Avoid overload operation

The filtration wind speed needs to be controlled within the design range (usually 0.8-1.2m/min). Too high wind speed will increase the force on the cage frame and cause deformation; too low wind speed will reduce the dust removal efficiency.

Regularly monitor the pressure difference (normal range 800-1500Pa). Abnormally high pressure difference may be a signal of cage blockage or filter bag damage.
